In this post, I’m diving into the King of Sin books I’ve read so far and sharing my personal rankings—from my least favorite to the one I couldn’t stop thinking about. Did your favorite make the top spot? Or will we completely disagree? Let’s find out!

4. King of Sloth

Alright, so in fourth place, I have to put King of Sloth, the fourth book in the King of Sin series. This one follows Javier, a billionaire from a ridiculously wealthy family, and Sloane, his sharp and fiery publicist. Their dynamic? Let’s just say it’s rocky. Sloane can’t stand the way Javier lives his life—lazy and carefree—and honestly, he drives her up the wall.
The story kicks off with a tragedy in Javier’s family, forcing him to reevaluate his priorities and become a more responsible version of himself. Along the way, Sloane supports him through this transformation, while Javier helps her navigate her own family struggles. Sounds like a recipe for a great romance, right? Well, not quite.
Mini Review: My Thoughts
I’ll be honest—I didn’t even finish this book. King of Sloth was the first Ana Huang book that didn’t hook me, and it was a struggle to get through. Javier’s chapters were just… boring. I found his personality frustrating, and there wasn’t much about him that I connected with.
Sloane was equally disappointing, which surprised me because I’d been really looking forward to her story. From the glimpses we got of her in the earlier books, she seemed so strong, ambitious, and intelligent. But when it came to reading her point of view, I just couldn’t feel the spark. She was far more compelling when seen through other characters' perspectives in the series.
Highlights
Honestly, the best part of this book was the potential it had. I loved the idea of two people with strong personalities challenging each other, but the execution didn’t land for me. The usual Ana Huang magic—especially the sizzling chemistry between her characters—was missing here. Typically, even when her books are a bit over-the-top, the relationships feel electric. But with Javier and Sloane? The chemistry just wasn’t there.
Why It’s Ranked Here
This book takes fourth place because it didn’t quite meet the expectations set by the rest of the series. While Ana Huang’s books are usually packed with sizzling chemistry and addictive storylines, this one lacked the spark that I’ve come to love. The characters felt a bit flat, and the emotional connection between Javier and Sloane just wasn’t there for me.
That said, I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series, King of Envy. Hopefully, it’ll recapture the magic I’ve come to expect from Ana Huang’s stories.
3. King of Pride

Taking third place is King of Pride, a romance that’s equal parts sweet and opposites-attract. This book follows Kai, a reserved and ambitious man from a traditional, high-society family who is on the verge of becoming the CEO of his family’s company. His life demands perfection—he can’t afford any scandals with the upcoming board vote looming.
Then there’s Isabella, a free-spirited writer with purple hair and a fiery personality who works as a barista at the exclusive club where Kai is a member. Their paths cross, and sparks fly, but there’s a twist: employees like Isabella aren’t allowed to date members of the club. Add to that Kai’s need to maintain a pristine reputation, and their love is not only forbidden but full of complications.
Mini Review: My Thoughts
I really liked this one! Kai and Isabella’s dynamic is fantastic—there’s something so fun about watching two people who are total opposites slowly fall for each other. Kai is all about structure and tradition, while Isabella is chaotic, impulsive, and unapologetically herself. Their differences make for some great moments, and you can’t help but root for them.
That said, while I enjoyed their relationship, the romance felt a little rushed. The instant attraction didn’t leave much room for the relationship to build naturally, and I missed the slow burn or tension I usually love in Ana Huang’s books. The plot itself also didn’t grab me as much as some of the others in the series, but the characters kept me hooked.
Highlights
Opposites Attract: Kai and Isabella’s dynamic is a classic opposites-attract story done right. He’s reserved and disciplined, while she’s wild and full of life. Their differences create sparks, and I loved seeing how they balanced each other.
Unique Personalities: Isabella stands out with her quirky traits—purple hair, a pet snake, and a love for all things unconventional. Meanwhile, Kai’s stoic nature and love of translating Latin texts gave him a quiet charm that made their dynamic work.
Forbidden Love: The forbidden aspect of their relationship adds a nice layer of tension. Isabella’s job rules and Kai’s need to keep a spotless reputation create realistic stakes, even if the resolution felt a bit too easy.
Why It’s Ranked Here
King of Pride earns third place because, while I loved the characters, the romance didn’t quite hit the mark for me. The instant attraction left little room for relationship growth, and the conflict felt resolved too quickly. I also found the plot less engaging compared to other books in the series.
That said, Kai and Isabella’s chemistry and their opposites-attract energy kept me entertained. If you’re looking for a lighter romance with quirky characters and forbidden love vibes, this book is a fun read. What did you think of King of Pride? Let me know—I’d love to hear your rankings!
"You think you're broken, but I wish you could see yourself the way I see you. Smart. Strong. Beautiful. Imperfect by your own standards but so wonderfully perfect for me"
2. King of Greed

Alright, taking the second spot on my King of Sin ranking is King of Greed! This book brings all the emotional depth and groveling we love in a second-chance romance. It follows Dominic and Alessandra, a married couple whose relationship is on the rocks after 11 years of marriage.
Dominic, a self-made billionaire and workaholic, has been so focused on his career that he’s neglected Alessandra to the point where she’s ready to walk away.
Mini Review: My Thoughts
I’ll be honest, Dominic and Alessandra aren’t my favorite characters personality-wise compared to some of the others in the series (looking at you, Kai and Isabella). But the plot of this book? It’s what makes it stand out. The entire story revolves around Dominic trying to win Alessandra back after realizing how unhappy she’s been in their marriage.
The groveling in this book is next-level. If you’re into seeing a male lead work hard to prove his love and fix his mistakes, Dominic delivers. I loved how much effort he put into showing Alessandra that he’s still madly in love with her and that he’s ready to be the partner she deserves. There’s so much angst and emotional growth in this one, which is why it ranks so high for me.
"'One day, I'll buy you a thousand real roses. I promise.' He'd kept that promise, but he'd broken a thousand more since"
Highlights
Second-Chance Romance: The heartbreak and hope in Dominic and Alessandra’s relationship are so well-written. You feel the weight of their history and root for them to find their way back to each other.
Groveling Goals: Watching Dominic realize the damage he’s done and work to rebuild Alessandra’s trust is incredibly satisfying. It’s a refreshing change from romances where the male lead is perfect from the start.
Emotional Depth: This book has all the angst! The tension and vulnerability between Dominic and Alessandra kept me hooked from start to finish.
Why It’s Ranked Here
King of Greed earns second place because of its compelling plot and emotional stakes. While the characters themselves weren’t my absolute favorites, their story more than made up for it. The angst, the groveling, and the deep emotional connection between Dominic and Alessandra made this one a standout for me.
That said, it was a tough call between this and King of Pride. I loved the characters in King of Pride more, but King of Greed had the better storyline. If you’re a fan of second-chance romances with lots of angst and heartfelt moments, this book is definitely worth the read!
Also, can we talk about the cover of this book? The covers of the books in this series are absolutely stunning, and I really appreciate the unique design they bring. They perfectly reflect Ana Huang’s style for book covers. 1. King of Wrath

Let’s start with the book that claims the throne—King of Wrath! This is the first book in the King of Sin series, and it’s packed with all the delicious tropes we love. The story follows Dante, a brooding billionaire being blackmailed into an arranged marriage with Vivian, a sharp and elegant woman from a new-money family. Vivian believes the marriage is nothing more than a business deal to benefit both their families, while Dante resents being forced into the situation.
As their story unfolds, we see them start to navigate their complicated relationship. Living together under one roof, their initial hostility gradually turns into something much deeper. It’s a classic enemies-to-lovers romance with all the angst, fiery tension, and heartfelt moments you could hope for. Add in a luxurious, high-society backdrop, and you’ve got the perfect setup for an unforgettable romance.
Mini Review: My Thoughts
I absolutely loved this book! From the very beginning, Dante and Vivian’s dynamic had me hooked. Dante is your classic grumpy, arrogant billionaire, but Vivian? She’s no pushover. She’s polished and poised, but she’s also fiercely strong. I loved how she didn’t let Dante’s attitude faze her—if he pushed, she pushed right back. Their chemistry was undeniable, and their banter made every interaction between them electric.
Watching their relationship evolve was so satisfying. The enemies-to-lovers trope is done so well here, with the perfect balance of tension, vulnerability, and growth. You see Dante go from resenting the situation to falling hard for Vivian, and Vivian realizes that beneath Dante’s gruff exterior is someone worth fighting for.
Highlights
Dante’s Transformation: He starts off as cold and distant, but as his feelings for Vivian grow, you see a softer, more protective side of him emerge.
Vivian’s Strength: She’s the kind of heroine who stands her ground. Even when faced with Dante’s initial arrogance, she refuses to let him walk all over her.
The Romance: The slow burn is so satisfying. Their growing connection, moments of jealousy, and eventual vulnerability with each other make the romance unforgettable.
Groveling Done Right: The third-act breakup is well-earned, and Dante’s efforts to win Vivian back are heartfelt and satisfying.
Re-Readability: This book is so engaging that I’ve already read it multiple times. Every time, it feels just as fresh and entertaining as the first read.
Why It’s Ranked Here
King of Wrath takes the top spot because it delivers everything I want in a romance novel. The characters are compelling, the story is full of tension and heart, and the luxurious setting adds an extra layer of intrigue. Dante and Vivian’s journey from enemies to lovers feels genuine, and their individual growth makes the story all the more impactful.
Another reason it ranks first is its fast-paced writing, which makes it perfect if you’re in a reading slump. It’s easy to get lost in the drama, romance, and witty banter. If you’re looking for more recommendations to get out of a slump, check out this post.
This book also has that magical quality that makes it impossible to put down. The pacing is perfect, the chemistry between the leads is sizzling, and the emotional payoff is so rewarding. Out of all the books in the King of Sin series, this one is my absolute favorite—it’s the kind of story you can’t help but want to revisit.
"A part of me would always find my way to her. She was my North Star, the brightest jewel in my sky"
Let’s Wrap Up
And that’s my ranking of the King of Sin series so far! Each book brings something unique to the table, and while some stood out more than others, they all have that signature Ana Huang magic we love.
